Unterwegs (on the go) - Illustration

Unterwegs is a mini comic about the liminality of airports. The comic was produced as part of a larger zine by members of the HfK illustration AG. Each member was randomly assigned a topic to create a comic or illustration about in a short amount of time. Liminal spaces are often plain and empty, emanating an uncanny feeling. I aimed to mimic this feeling with the chosen illustration style. The simple geometric black and white shapes depict a space that feels wasteful and impersonal.

Dress... ect. - Graphic Design

For this booklet I collected a text and images which I then combined into a layout in Adobe Indesign. Each chapter varies from the next, so to bring them together I created a visual design concept which I used throughout the booklet.

Tools used: Adobe Indesign, Adobe Photoshop

Backwards - Graphic/Fashion Design

As a play on self fulfilling prophecies, I designed four knitted pockets. Together the pockets contain a message to the self. The text, which is backwards on the outside, is best read when peering into the pockets while wearing the piece. This way the text can be read the right way around. As one moves from pocket to pocket to read the message, the body bends and turns. By the time one has fully read “I’m bending over backwards” one has had to literally bend over backwards.

One Digital Day - Graphic Design

A risograph printed poster about time in the digital age. For this project I mapped which websites I visited on a single day. I recorded the jumps I made back and fourth between pages in a browsing session. The final design has rectangles depicting the websites visited and lines to represent the jumps between them.

Tools used: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Risograph
